Set Apart

Growing up in a Christian family, we would attend worship service every Sunday. The youth and kids would have Sunday School after praise and worship, while the adults would listen to the Word. Apart from Sunday service, we would also have Bible studies, which would rotate in the houses of the different members of our church. As the years passed, we weren't just a group of people who attended the same church, we formed a genuine, familial love for each other. Looking back now, all the fellowship we had with our church family in the past years, were the most fun and precious times I had in my childhood.

Though it was not always a walk in the park, and having the teachings and fellowships weren't assurance that we would live perfect lives. We all went through our own trials at different times. But because we belong to the family of Jesus, we went through it together.

Like when I got pregnant the first time...it was already very difficult for me to confess it to my family, and it was equally hard to speak about it to my church family. And for it to happen again a few years later, it made it all the more difficult. I didn't want them to feel that they lacked in guiding me because it really wasn't the case. Thankfully, by God's grace, I was able to get through such dark and difficult days. My family and church still welcomed me (together with my sons) with open arms and lots of love. And after all that I went through, The Lord made me realize that a personal relationship with Him is the most important relationship I should have.

And that is what I am trying to impart to my sons today. As early as now, they can seek to experience God in their lives; and that their relationship with Jesus is the one they should never take for granted.

Despite how the world's eyes my see us, we are blessed with sufficient love from our family, church and closest friends. Yes, the world may say we are an unconventional family, and society may look down on us. In spite of all these, I believe we are a family God set apart for a purpose. He allowed for us to be such a family because He will use us as His instruments to show the world of how great His Love is for everyone. And right now, He is already using us to teach others that regardless of everything we may go through in this life, if we choose Him (and continue to choose him daily), He will shed His Light on us and take us back on the right track...and be able to fulfill the destiny He has for us.

"But you are a chosen people; a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9

The Start of Something New

Earlier today, MateoMarco and I went to view a possible space for our new business venture (I will keep the concept of the business a secret for now...will definitely post updates once we have more details). But God-willing, we hope to have it up and running within this year. There are a lot of work we need to put into it first, and looking for a space is step one. I guess once we have that on lock down, we'll be able to get the ball rolling for all the other things we need.

Mommy's little helpers :)

Simple moments like this makes me so grateful that the boys are still so game to go with me everywhere, despite it being a boring errand. I appreciate the fact that they are so eager to just be with their Mommy wherever I may go. I know one day when they are bigger, they will have their own plans and places to go to without me. But!!! I don't want to fast forward on those days just yet, or I'll just end up crying. Hahaha. Despite their hyper-activeness and sometimes naughtiness, I enjoy every minute of being with them.

Anyway, back to our hunt for a place for our business...the one we went to today seems promising, but we need to keep our options open for other better ones that may come up, and be even more accessible and attractive to our future clients. So I'm looking forward to more dates like these with my boys in the coming days :)

Revived

Sooo...it's been a while! A LOT has happened, in the last three years, since I made this. Well...I have finally decided to revive my site, and hopefully be able to sustain it! Hahaha.

Now, where to begin??? Hmmm...

First of all, this is how big Mateo is already!

He will be on his last year of pre-school this school year, and he's turning SIX in August, plus he's currently just obsessed with dinosaurs (though he claims he doesn't like them too much anymore), dolphins and whales. How quickly time flies!!!

Then of course, here's Marco...

He turned four last month, is also studying in the same school as Mateo, and loves everything his brother loves too!

They are both so amazing, and though they can get chaotic sometimes, I JUST LOVE THEM TO BITS! They are teaching me more about life than they can even comprehend at the moment. I can definitely say that they are the best blessings (and lessons!) the Lord has ever given me. We have been through SO MUCH these last years, but we have come out victorious EVERY TIME. And that, we owe to our Abba!

As a single Mom, having two boys can definitely be a handful. But I would like to share with you all, on future posts, that because I have decided to make Jesus my Guide and Partner, I am able to do anything and everything for my boys. And because He is the center of our family, we have a different kind of love for each other, because the love we have comes from the ultimate Source of Love.

That will be all for now. But please, please stick around for my future stories. I am excited to share with you our journey we call life! :)

"Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments." Deuteronomy 7:9

My Children, My World

Since coming across this blog of mine, you may be wondering, who really am I, what my deal is, and what my purpose is, right? Well if you are, let me tell you :)

As I mentioned in my intro post, I am a proud mom to two little boys, Mateo Alfonso Emmanuel, 2 years old & Marco Vicente David, who will be 10 months in a few days. My life revolves around them and everything about who I am today is because of their existence. Cliché as it may sound, they have turned my life around.

I thought about putting up this blog as an outlet for me to be able to share my experiences as a mother, both the good & sometimes challenging ones. My aim is to show other young single moms that it is possible to do it on your own. It may not be the easiest, most conventional setup, or most looked up to situation, but it can be done...it has to be done.

So, I hope that to those of you who will be reading my stories, you will be able to learn a thing or two through my life with my kiddos. I also hope that through this, I will be able to inspire others with how my life has turned out to be since having kids, and share with you what is to come for me & my little family.
